The 37 Practices of Bodhisattvas
A five-day program
Saturday, May 18–Wednesday, May 22, 2019
The 37 Practices of Bodhisattvas is a collection of verses by the 14th-century master Gyelse Togme Zangpo that describe how to bring one’s actions, emotions, and thoughts onto the path of compassion. In addition to explaining this classic text, Khenpo Jigme will instruct and lead the practice of Chenrezik, the embodiment of the enlightened compassion of all the buddhas.
Khenpo Jigme was born in Bhutan and became a Tibetan Buddhist monk in his youth. After completing monastic college, he entered an extended retreat at Namo Buddha in Nepal. The renowned meditation master and scholar Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche appointed him khenpo (professor/preceptor) of Vajra Vidya Institute in India, and later retreat master of Vajra Vidya Retreat Center in Colorado. With warmth and clarity, Khenpo Jigme teaches Buddhist philosophy and practice in Asia and North America. He regularly visits Vajra Vidya Portland.
