Room: Brunswick

The Bodhisattva Vow is a further extension of one's personal commitment to be of ongoing benefit to others.

This day will give us the opportunity to look at the meaning of these commitments, and of the world view they represent. The discussion and teachings will be from the perspective of what it means to be a Buddhist -- as we enter the stream of dharma, how do we integrate the teachings of the Buddha into our life in a meaningful way?

Prior to attending the gathering it is recommended to read this article from Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche:

Taking these vows enters you into the larger Buddhist community of any lineage, not limited to the Shambhala or Tibetan Buddhist community. We welcome anyone who feels inspired to participate.

For those who are preparing to take the Buddhist Bodhisattva Vow June 21-23, this preparation class in either Portland or Brunswick is required. Also required is a letter from your or a meditation instructor. If either of thess are not possible, please contact us as soon as possible.

There is a Bodhisattva Vow Source book that will be available for all those taking the class. You wil be able to purchase the book at class for $22.00
