The World Could Be Otherwise: Imagination and the Bodhisattva Path  Online

Wednesday evenings, 6:30-8:30, July 8th-August 5th

Please join us Wednesday evenings in July as we read from and discuss Norman Fischer’s newest book, The World Could Be Otherwise. Fischer--a Zen poet, teacher, and priest--reframes the classic Buddhist teachings on the paramitas, or six perfections, offering us ways to re-imagine everyday situations and transform our habitual emotional responses.

Throughout the book Fischer provides meditation and daily life practices that take into account “who we are in our time and place, which is our limitation and our opportunity.” We will engage in these practices and share our experiences with each other.

"In frightening times, we wish the world could be otherwise. With a touch of imagination, it can be . . .  Fischer depicts imaginative spiritual practice as a necessary resource for our troubled times.”   (from back cover)
