Have you ever been curious about meditation?

This course provides introductory tools and teachings for working with meditation in everyday life. With simple instructions and support, mindfulness meditation practice can become part of one's life, revealing our innate stability, strength and clarity.

The rewards of mindfulness practice are well proven: reduced stress, improved concentration, & an overall sense of well-being.  But those benefits are just the beginning.

This five week introduction to the practice of sitting meditation will use a new collection of teachings by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche.

“This guide to mindful awareness through meditation provides all the basics to get you started, but also goes deeper to address questions that naturally arise as your practice matures and further insight arises.”

Each class will inlcude instructiion, group meditation, discussion of readings and of our personal meditation path.

This is an intro class- open to all.

We appreciate you registering and paying online. This helps us not only to plan for the program, but speeds up the registration line on the day of the program.

Generosity Policy

The Brunswick Portland Shambhala Center is funded solely by your membership and program donations. Thank you for your generosity as you consider what you can pay for each program at our Center. We strive to price our programs in a way that accurately reflects the financial need of our Center and the cost to us of producing the program.

We have a generosity policy to make our offerings available to all who wish to participate. If the program price is an obstacle for you, please consider what is possible for you in your current situation, and offer as much of the program fee as you can.

For those who can offer more than the program price, we have a “patron price”. Your generosity in offering the patron price helps cover the costs for others who are not able to pay the full price.
