Social Meditation

with Shastri Nick Kanz

The foundation of enlightened society is being unashamed of who you are.

This weekend intensive will be an exploration in creating enlightened culture through the practice of social meditation, a newly evolving way to experience meditation as a form of cultural interaction, which allows us to experience our individual and collective goodness.

Social Meditation is a practice developed by Shastri Nick Kranz, under the mentorship of  Acharya Adam Lobel. It is a group practice that explores creating a culture of authenticity and nowness, through meditating socially, by listening and speaking from our present moment experience.

The program will immerse participants in the forms of social meditation and provide training to support your growth as leaders in your local community.  We will use the powerful practices of social meditation to create a foundation for authentic communication and fearlessness in leadership.

Who should attend? This program is designed for anyone who would like to bring the view of meditation further into their daily life, as well those wishing to develop leadership skills and learn practices to foster enlightened culture in their communities.

THIS EVENT WILL BE HELD AT Portland New Church at 302 Stevens Avenue

Friday evening there will be a free talk open to the public.

Shastri Nick Kranz has been a student of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche since 1997. He has developed an approach to cultural transformation in the practice of Social Meditation, and worked with Youth Leadership development in the Shambhala community for the last decade. He is interested in the intersection of social entrepreneurship, awakened intentional community, and collaborative right livelihood.

We appreciate you registering and paying online. This helps us not only to plan for the program, but speeds up the registration line on the day of the program.

Generosity Policy

The Brunswick Portland Shambhala Center is funded solely by your membership and program donations. Thank you for your generosity as you consider what you can pay for each program at our Center. We strive to price our programs in a way that accurately reflects the financial need of our Center and the cost to us of producing the program.

We have a generosity policy to make our offerings available to all who wish to participate. If the program price is an obstacle for you, please consider what is possible for you in your current situation, and offer as much of the program fee as you can.

For those who can offer more than the program price, we have a “patron price”. Your generosity in offering the patron price helps cover the costs for others who are not able to pay the full price.
