May 5, 2022: Maine Shambhala Sangha Newsletter
Our community continues to be at the core of all that we do. In order to care for each other, we are offering a variety of ways to stay connected. With the power of virtual options such as Zoom, we are able to keep us connected for practice, study, and gathering.
If you are looking for ways to connect with the community, please check the website, as well as your emails, for updates on events. Let us use this time to come together and to keep our connections strong and meaningful.
If you would be more comfortable connecting with a person directly rather than visiting our website for information, please contact us at [email protected]. We will be in touch shortly after receiving your inquiry.

Brunswick Portland Community Classes and Gatherings:
Lojong Slogans — A Deeper Dive
Please join us as we gather weekly to read, contemplate, meditate, and discuss one lojong slogan per week, using a guide authored by Judy Lief, Working with the Slogans of Atisha: A Practical Guide to Leading a Compassionate Life. Lojong is a Tibetan word which literally means “mind” (lo) “training” (jong). It is sometimes translated as “heart cultivation.” The lojong slogans were brought from India to Tibet by renowned teacher Atisha in the 11th century; they became more widely known in the 12th century when the 59 slogans were summarized into Seven Points of Mind Training by Geshe Chekawa.
We will meet seven Tuesdays, May 3rd to June 14th, from 6:30 – 8:00 pm by zoom only.
