This Week in Shambhala: June 16, 2016
Building a Culture of Kindness.
“On behalf of the entire Shambhala community I express profound sadness and pain towards the brutal killings in Orlando this past weekend. As we now know Florida has suffered the deadliest mass shooting in American history. My heart breaks for everyone affected by this tragedy. I want to especially acknowledge the pain of the LGBT community – a community that has faced ignorant violence and discrimination for generations. Those who have suffered are in my practice and I encourage you to hold them in your heart as well.
We should dedicate our practice to the aspiration that all people, regardless of their sexual orientation, race, or religion are able to experience their basic goodness and peace. May the threat of gun violence lessen, and may all beings be safe. We send love and courage to all who are suffering and to all who are in fear.”

OPEN POSITIONS in SANGHA:
Are you interested in service as practice and contributing to community?
Current open volunteer positions:
Egoless Cleaning Warriors for our Brunswick Center:
- Do you enjoy simple, uncluttered clean?
- Are you more likely to clean someone else’s home than your own?
- Do you find perverse satisfaction in the instant gratification of eradicating dust from the surfaces of furniture?
- Might you wonder in what new ways you might practice the 6 paramitas and then accomplish the first bhumi before you die?
- Are you OK with minimal social gratification while accumulating much dharmic merit and redirecting your future karma?
Our Brunswick Meditation Center is looking for a few more dedicated and egoless warriors to join our Cleaning Team.
Please contact Kathy Bither if you are interested.
