Parinirvana of the Vidyadhara, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Sadhana of Mahamudra Feast
6:30 pm Monday, April 4th, 2016. Brunswick Shambhala Center, 19 Mason St. Brunswick, ME

You are cordially invited to attend the annual celebration of the Parinirvana of Chögyam Trungpa, the founder of the Shambhala meditation lineage in the West. April 4th is the 29th anniversary of the parinirvana (death of an enlightened one) of Trungpa Rinpoche.
Practitioners at every level of meditation are invited to share in a liturgical feast celebrating our gratitude for the founder of our path of meditation and warriorship. The ‘feast’ practice includes offerings of food, drink, poetry and music in the context of reciting the Sadhana of Mahamudra, one of Trungpa Rinpoche’s earliest offerings of his wisdom to the West.

As we will be eating while seated on cushions in the shrine hall, whatever dish you bring for the feast is best if it works as a finger food. Offerings of Trungpa Rinpoche’s poetry, pith and direct teachings, your own songs of enlightenment and warrior inspiration are all also very much encouraged.

“The principles of Shambhala Training are based on sanity and reality, as well as the gentleness of the Buddhist tradition. However, the Shambhala tradition has its own basis, its own footing. That basis is ourselves individually cultivating who we are, what we are, as human beings. That’s the first key idea: you shouldn’t be afraid of who you are.”–Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche
