Making Friends & Finding Contentment with Ourselves

March 5- April 2, 2018: 6:30-8:30 PM

with- Sarah Chandler and Kathy Bither

Contentment can be hard to find.

Much of the time we search for contentment in things, achievements or relationships. With meditation practice, we relax with ourselves and appreciate simple human experiences.

Difficult emotions and challenges of life can be met with gentleness, mindfulness, and inquisitiveness.

During our practice our experience deepens through the cultivation of contentment and simplicity.

Through understanding the painful conditions and emotions that keep us trapped in habitual patterns, we can open to our inherent goodness and express the qualities of gentleness, appreciation, and steadiness.

We will work directly with the following topics through instruction, meditation, and discussion.

Class Topics

Class 1: Making Friends With Ourselves

Class 2: Resting in the Present Moment

Class 3: Meeting Obstacles with Patience

Class 4: Working With Strong Emotions

Class 5: Celebrating Our Natural Abilities

No Prerequisites: This program is open to everyone, and no previous experience with meditation is necessary.

We appreciate you registering and paying online. This helps us not only to plan for the program, but speeds up the registration line on the day of the program.

Generosity Policy

The Brunswick Portland Shambhala Center is funded solely by your membership and program donations. Thank you for your generosity as you consider what you can pay for each program at our Center. We strive to price our programs in a way that accurately reflects the financial need of our Center and the cost to us of producing the program.

We have a generosity policy to make our offerings available to all who wish to participate. If the program price is an obstacle for you, please consider what is possible for you in your current situation, and offer as much of the program fee as you can.

For those who can offer more than the program price, we have a “patron price”. Your generosity in offering the patron price helps cover the costs for others who are not able to pay the full price.
