From the ground of conversation arises the magic of our relationships. – Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche
The Art of Conversation is a five-week course inspired by the Sakyong's new book, The Lost Art of Good Conversation. Join us!
How do you connect with the people in your life? What does meditation have to do with conversation? In this series, we will practice shamatha meditation (“peaceful abiding”) and develop trust in our basic goodness. From this ground, we will learn to work with both the delightful and painful aspects of our lives. When we know our own basic goodness, we can help create enlightened society which begins when two people engage in conversation. Conversation is more than just talking; it is an art which allows people to connect to feelings and emotions. Good conversation helps us to synchronize the mind and heart, individually and collectively. With mindful conversation, we create peace and experience a sense of coming home. This class is interactive and experiential, with a mixture of meditation, dialogue, video, discussion, and readings.
Level: Everyone is welcome. This course is beneficial to new and experienced practitioners alike.
