March 18, 2021: Maine Sangha News

While the physical center is closed, our community continues to be at the core of all that we do. In order to care for each other, we are offering a variety of ways to stay connected. With the power of virtual options such as Zoom, we are able to keep us connected for practice, study, and gathering.

If you are looking for ways to connect with the community, please check the website, as well as your emails, for updates on events. Let us use this time to come together and to keep our connections strong and meaningful.

If you would be more comfortable connecting with a person directly rather than visiting our website for information, please contact us at [email protected]. We will be in touch shortly after receiving your inquiry.

“Throughout human culture there has been a sustained tradition of people who looked death in the face, embraced it and died well. In doing so they transformed their lives and the lives of all who knew them.”

Deepening Compassion: The Path of the Bodhisattva Warrior

The path of the Bodhisattva Warrior begins with developing affection for ourselves and expands this to others, dissolving the barriers that divide us. In 2019, to support this practice, several Shambhala Acharyas and other senior teachers led the community in a year-long series of talks, accompanied by contemplative and meditation practices from the Buddhist Mahayana teachings of our lineage.

This new version of the course, which includes an overview of the main Mahayana Path teachings, with the themes for the four seasons echoing the virtues of the Four Dignities, allows you to purchase the complete set of teachings presented, all re-formatted into one course and offered at a discount price. There is a total of 21 amazing talks by acharyas and senior teachers, as well as suggested reading and contemplation questions to help you deepen your understanding of the material.

1) Maitri and the Four Immeasurables

2) Relative Bodhicitta and the Paramitas

3) Emptiness and Absolute Bodhicitta
