December 31, 2020: Maine Sangha News
Dear members and friends of Brunswick/Portland Shambhala Meditation Center,
The governing council again seeks your views and support as we contemplate our response to the new owner of 19 Mason Street regarding terms for us to remain as tenants or choose a new direction. It will help us to hear your aspirations for what activities you would like to participate in over the next years at this or another location, and how we can best accommodate those aspirations.
There are two specific occasions we would like you to join – this coming Sunday, Jan 3,10:30-11:30 for “coffee and conversation” on this topic by zoom link here. On Monday, Jan 4 from 6:30-8:30 pm a regular council meeting will be devoted to this topic.
You are welcome to attend to express your views and join our conversation. (link provided upon your response to this message).
Finally, we continue to appreciate any and all responses by email or phone. We are grateful to several who responded with ideas to our last message and the people who joined council members this past Sunday to begin our contemplations. We need YOU to share your visions with us to shape a direction for our community.
Thank you for all your practice and study over these challenging times. May it continue to benefit our world.

While the physical center is closed, our community continues to be at the core of all that we do. In order to care for each other, we are offering a variety of ways to stay connected. With the power of virtual options such as Zoom, we are able to keep us connected for practice, study, and gathering.
If you are looking for ways to connect with the community, please check the website, as well as your emails, for updates on events. Let us use this time to come together and to keep our connections strong and meaningful.
If you would be more comfortable connecting with a person directly rather than visiting our website for information, please contact us at: [email protected]. We will be in touch shortly after receiving your inquiry.
Please join us online!
